Why You should hire a Landscape Designer
As designers, we are faced with the question of “why do we need a landscape designer?”
In short, a landscape designer is there to not only help create you create the space you envisioned, but a designer is also there to help navigate the peaks and pitfalls of the process.
Having been in the business for 15 years, I’ve learned that the design process doesn’t end with the final drawing. Designers provide a distinct service throughout the process, from idea generation, to conceptual design, to budget management, to construction and so forth.
lET’S DISCUSS IDEAS
It all starts with an idea. Often times, designers and their clients will initially meet to talk about the dreams and desires for their space. During this time, designers are able to help focus the collection of ideas into a cohesive composition. Designers will take into consideration the desires of their clients, but help direct them with their professional experience to help create a unique space just for them. We will help to identify ideas that will fit the project. While lots of ideas might be generated during this time, a landscape designer will use their expertise to create a cohesive landscape design.
Budget Management
Budget is one of the first items to be discussed. But as a client it can be hard to understand the costs of supplies and builds. Designers are able to provide a better analysis of the costs and overall estimate for your project. We also work with lots of different materials and vendors, to potentially give you the look of what was desired, but at a more cost-effective price point. So spending money on hiring a designer can actually save you more money when it comes to the construction of the project. Designers will also ultimately help increase the value of your home.
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
Here is where having a designer really becomes crucial. After a site study and familiarity of the space, the designer is now able to take the ideas discussed and utilize their artistic creativity to put it all together. They are able to design to create flow, troubleshoot specific areas, add planting and make the space beautiful. This is the phase were clients actually see how their space can be transformed. We also provided 3D renderings, highlighting different parts of the day, so our clients get a complete understanding of their dream space.
field connections
Working in this field, designers make lots of connections. We are a great resource to finding a construction company that will be able to actually build and create your space, based on our design. We often work with these companies, so they become familiar to our construction plans. Not only are we available to the construction companies for any questions or feedback, but we also can make site visits to make sure the construction is moving in the direction we had envisioned. We also work with HOAs, vendors for appliances, architects, and engineers to make sure your entire area is harmonious.
A designer’s goal is to create a space their clients love and help them decrease their level of stress during the process. We want to help create an environment that you love and are proud of. We often are proud of the projects we partake in and will want to know that the space is loved for years to come. We can help!
